The Plagiarists to Present SALON 45: TIME - THE BEGINNING AND END OF EVERYTHING
Descended from the Old English sele, or 'hall', the word SALON has come to mean a gathering designed to entertain and enlighten (from BUST magazine). The events reached their 'apogee' during the 17th and 18th centuries in French aristocratic homes. There were rich and plenteous foods, there were games and glamour, music to engage in and these events were of course also 'binges of bon mots, banter and verbal and artistic prowess, intellectual orgies.' Salons were incubators of ideas that started with conversations.
Charlie Clements Leads FAITH's First London Revival, Now thru June 16
Multi award-winning former EastEnders actor Charlie Clements leads the cast in the first major London revival of Meredith Oakes' FAITH since its Royal Court premiere in 1997, marking the 30th anniversary of the Falklands War. Directed by Drew Baker, the show will get a 4-week season at The Courtyard Theatre Tuesdays-Sundays at 7:30pm from tonight, 23 May to Saturday 16 June.

Dayton Playhouse Closes the Curtain on GYPSY, 5/23
Dayton Playhouse will close the 2009/2010 Mainstage Season, Gypsy on May 23. Gypsy is the classic tale of the infamous Gypsy Rose Lee adapted from her 1957 autobiography. The Gypsy libretto is by Arthur Laurents with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and music by Jule Styne. The Dayton production is directed for the Playhouse by Brian Sharp with musical direction from Ron Kindell, choreography by Chris Erk, lights by Anita Bachmann, sound by Tony Fende, costumes by Marilyn Johnson, stage management by Wade Hamilton and set design by Chris Harmon.

CABARET And GYPSY Among Dayton Playhouse's 2009/10 Season
This season the Dayton Playhouse has made quite a few improvements to their schedule and pricing. Their popular FlipSide series has been such a success that they?ve incorporated it directly into their MainStage series. This allows them to bring you ftheir general audience shows and two avant-garde shows within the format of their regular season. All shows will be full productions. Musicals will be on stage for three consecutive weekends, while plays will be on stage for two consecutive weekends.
