Nashville Rep's Season-Opening 9 to 5: The Musical Kicks Off An Eagerly Anticipated Slate of Theater
by Jeffrey Ellis - Sep 24, 2023
Baker’s superb direction brings all the various moving parts of this huge production together to deliver a gratifyingly heartfelt paean to the millions of working women (and men) who inspired the screenplay and musical book by Patricia Resnick. Baker’s vision for the piece, in concert with her team of collaborators, delivers a production of 9 to 5: The Musical that is delightfully fresh and new, eschewing the tendency of some directors to offer a rehash of what’s already been seen on Broadway, on tour or in regional theater.

Thomas R. Pryor Presents New Memoir at Barnes & Noble in Manhattan Tonight
by BWW News Desk - Oct 17, 2014
Back in the 1960s in Thomas R. Pryor's working class neighborhood on the Upper East Side, Devil Dogs were a nickel, hydrants were often open, and the game called Ringalario let boys put their arms around girls for the first time. Nuns slugged you for humming baseball beer jingles in class. Junkies scrambled up fire escapes with stolen TVs. And, like other fathers, Tommy's took him to saloons all day, and no one thought it strange.
