The Library of Congress National Audio-Visual Conservation Center is announcing the full lineup of rare cinema and special guests to be featured at the inaugural Library of Congress Festival of Film and Sound. The new four-day film festival will be held June 15-18 in association with the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center at the American Film Institute's beautifully restored 1938 art deco theater in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Rom Com Fest, a new Los Angeles based film festival which celebrates love through film and experiences, announced the lineup for its inaugural festival which will take place June 20-23, 2019. This winter, the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) presents a retrospective of the films of Jacques Becker (1906–1960), whose richly detailed worlds, indelible characters, and a humanist outlook elevated genre filmmaking to an art form. The series brings together Becker's most celebrated films, lesser known gems, and newly restored versions. The series will run from January 8 to February 26 in FIAF's Florence Gould Hall.

Universal Pictures, Screenvision Media, a national leader in cinema advertising, and Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, announced today the return of Scarface to movie theatres nationwide, in celebration of its 35th anniversary. Additionally, film fans outside of New York will have the chance to participate in a Tribeca Film Festival retrospective event on the big screen for the first time ever. As part of the 35th anniversary celebrations, moviegoers are invited to watch the cult classic film followed by the Tribeca Film Festival post screening conversation, during which Scarface director Brian De Palma, along with actors Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Steven Bauer reunited to discuss the film and its lasting impact.
