Nashville Ballet Announces Youth Cast For NASHVILLE'S NUTCRACKER

Local students will be helping the Emmy nominated Nashville Ballet perform their annual production of Nashville's Nutcracker this December. Running at TPAC December 9–24, this beloved holiday event allows aspiring artists from School of Nashville Ballet, Rejoice School of Ballet, and the Hispanic Family Foundation the opportunity to perform alongside Nashville Ballet's professional company dancers.

Next up on The Players Club of Swarthmore's Main Stage is Annie, often called a?oeAmerica's Happiest Musicala??. With book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Martin Charnin, Annie has won seven Tony Awards. Based on the Harold Gray comic strip' Little Orphan Annie,' Annie features all the hits you know and love including; a?oeTomorrow,a?? a?oeHard Knock Lifea?? and a?oeFully Dresseda??. The Players Club of Swarthmore Presents MAMMA MIA!

In its opening show of the 2019-2020 season, The Players Club of Swarthmore presents Mamma Mia, the ultimate feel- good musical comedy. Mamma Mia is woven around many of ABBA's greatest hits, featuring music and lyrics by Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus and book by Catherine Johnson. For the final show of the 2018-2019 season, The Players Club of Swarthmore presents Sister Act, the feel- good musical comedy based on the 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg . Sister Act earned five Tony Award nominations in 2011 including Best Musical Score with music by Alen Menkin (Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid) and lyrics by Glen Slater (The Little Mermaid).Sister Act was also nominated for Best Book of a Musical written by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner (Cheers) and Douglas Carter Beane(Xanadu and The Little Dog Laughed).
