El Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (Inbal) recuerda este 28 de julio a la prolífica artista y gestora cultural Helen Escobedo (Ciudad de México, 1934-2010) en el 90 aniversario de su nacimiento, colaboradora en iniciativas como el Espacio Escultórico de Ciudad Universitaria, creadora de obras públicas monumentales, como Puertas del viento para el proyecto Ruta de la Amistad y de instalaciones en las que abordó temas como el medio ambiente y la migración.

La Secretaría de Cultura del Gobierno de México y el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (Inbal) celebran el 97 aniversario del nacimiento de la escultora mexicana Geles Cabrera, considerada la primera mujer escultora profesional en México y la primera en hacer una exposición individual, cuando tenía 22 años de edad, en la Galería Mont Orendain de la colonia Roma, en 1948.

2022 Driskell Prize Awarded To Art Historian Adrienne L. Childs
The High Museum of Art today announced scholar, art historian and curator Adrienne L. Childs as the 2022 recipient of the David C. Driskell Prize in recognition of her contributions to the field of African American art. Awarded annually by the Museum since 2005, the prize demonstrates the High's ongoing dedication to furthering artistic innovation and promoting research of African American artists and scholars.

Leslie Sacks Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of California-based sculptor, Jon Krawczyk and his recent vibrant geometric stainless-steel sculptures. The exhibition will present a range of work from large-scale gem-like sculptures at 5-8 feet tall and smaller to mid-scale works. For the past fifteen years, Jon Krawczyk has worked in fluid, biomorphic sculptural forms of stainless steel and bronze. Polished stainless steel evokes the likeness of liquid and the twists of metal illicit stunning reflections.
