The High School Broadway Shadowing Program connects New York City public high school students with behind-the-scenes professionals including producers, stage managers, house managers, and marketing and advertising staff, who share what goes into creating and maintaining a Broadway production. On Thursday December 12th, 70 students and teachers from all over NYC came together at our host venue, Theatre Row, to learn more about non-performance careers in theatre. These participants also had the opportunity to attend The Phantom of the Opera; for some of these students it was the chance to attend a Broadway show for the first time.

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell S. Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the fifteenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Angela Sclafani & Benjamin Velez. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by Kate Baldwin on Monday, December 2nd from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

The coveted Jimmy Awards for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor were presented to Renee Rapp, The Blumey Awards (Charlotte, NC) and Andrew Barth Feldman, The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance (New York, NY).
