Jean Shafiroff to Co-Chair Annual Mission Society Gala Again This Spring
On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, the New York City Mission Society will hold its annual Champions for Children fundraising Gala. This year's event will honor legendary actress and singer Diahann Carroll and entrepreneur Don Peebles, as well as recognize three lifetime members of the Mission Society's Board of Directors. Co-chaired by Jean Shafiroff and Katrina Peebles, the benefit will support the Mission Society's programs and services that help youth and families in our city's most underserved communities break the cycle of poverty and achieve success.

Author and Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff and Martin Shafiroff hosted a reception on Tuesday night to announce the honorees at the New York City Mission Society's annual Champions for Children Gala on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Mandarin Oriental NY. This year's honorees are legendary actress and singer Diahann Carroll, entrepreneur Don Peebles, and three lifetime members of the Mission Society's Board of Directors: actress and philanthropist Dina Merrill Hartley, whose family has supported the Mission Society for four generations; Lloyd W. Brown, II; and, LTC Francis W. Kairson, Jr. (Ret).

Urban Stages to Honor Henry Buhl & KT Sullivan at Annual Benefit
Urban Stages' Board of Directors and founding artistic director Frances Hill will hold their annual benefit at the Boathouse in Central Park at 6:30PM on May 18th. This event will honor philanthropist Henry Buhl for his contributions to Urban Stages and the New York Community as the Founder of the Association of Community Employment for the Homeless (ACE). Brilliant singer and actress, KT Sullivan will receive the first Musical Theatre Award for her work with Urban Stages and as director of the Mabel Mercer Foundation which produces the New York Cabaret Convention.

The 20th Annual Watermill Center Summer Benefit took place on July 27, 2013 at the The Watermill Center in Water Mill, NY. Beginning at 6pm, the evening included cocktails provided by Bacardi USA, a silent auction, performances, art installations, dinner, dancing, and a live auction hosted by auctioneer Simon de Pury. Photo Flash: Inside Watermill Center’s BIG BANG Benefit
The Watermill Center held its annual summer benefit on Saturday, July 28th. Despite a downpour of rain, the spectacular event went on as planned with performance art and installations. Watermill International Summer Program Participants from over 25 countries created eight acres of installations and performances throughout the grounds of Watermill Center. The funds raised will support The Watermill Center's International Summer Program and year round Artist Residency Program, providing a unique environment for young and emerging artists to explore and develop their work.
