Winners of the 2017 Australian Dance Awards were announced tonight, Sunday 24 September, at the Arts Centre Melbourne. The awards were hosted by cabaret star Yana Alana and dance sensation Benjamin Hancock.

There was a sense of sisterhood and innocence not often seen in mainstream portrayals of African American youth. However, the piece did not limit itself to depicting the idyllic.
