The Handel and Haydn Society has announced the addition of three new principal musicians to its Orchestra. Emi Ferguson joins the orchestra in the principal flute position, Heather Miller Lardin joins in the principal bass role, and Jonathan Hess joins as the principal timpanist. All three musicians were selected by a committee either by appointment or following a series of auditions with an international field of candidates
Totem Pole Playhouse A CHRISTMAS CAROL Receives National Honor From The American Bus Association
Totem Pole Playhouse's critically-acclaimed annual production of A Christmas Carol has received a "Best of the Best" Award from the American Bus Association (ABA) as one of the top 100 events in North America. The "Best of the Best" designation is an annual compendium of the 100 best events for group travel in the United States and Canada. The American Bus Association provides more than 600 million passenger trips annually on charters, tours, scheduled service and shuttles. Membership in the ABA includes motorcoach operators, tour operators, and tourism-related organizations. A committee of its members selects the top 100 events each year from hundreds of celebrations, festivals, fairs, performing arts presentations, regional commemorative events, and more. Totem Pole's production was submitted for consideration by Destination Gettysburg, the official marketing organization for Gettysburg and Adams County.
SOCIETY OF BROKEN SOULS Set to Release Second Album MIDNIGHT AND THE PALE This April
Society of Broken Souls, the folk noir songwriting duo of multi-instrumentalists Dennis James and Lauryn Shapter, is set to release its second album, Midnight and the Pale, on April 13, 2018. Midnight and The Pale, the follow-up to 2016's Things Still Left Unsaid, is the pair's second album under the moniker Society of Broken Souls and their ?fth collaboration. The new album once again sees James and Shapter writing, arranging, producing, and engineering the 10-song collection, as well as performing all the parts. Starting a music career considerably later in life than most emerging artists, the duo is embracing the maturity and experience that comes from years passed, life lived, and challenges faced. Their latest album is a study in the interplay of light and dark, and the beauty that results when they are allowed to walk comfortably side by side.

Civic Theatre Announces 2010-11 Anthony Award Winners
Fort Wayne Civic Theatre presented the annual Anthony Awards on Sunday, July 10th. Luke Holliger received an Anthony Award for Excellence in Technical Theatre and Cyndy Elick won an Anthony Award for Excellence in Volunteerism.
