Sarasota Jewish Theatre has announced its 2022-23 season lineup. Local Sarasota favorite actors and directors will be joined by national actors to present these plays reflecting Jewish heritage and culture. The plays are:

A 14-day celebration featuring hundreds of live performances from independent local, national, and international artists, the Cincy Fringe is Cincinnati's Summer Theatre Party. HEDY! THE LIFE & INVENTIONS OF HEDY LAMARR Returns To Indy
The District Theatre will present 'HEDY! The Life & Inventions of Hedy Lamarr' for Women's Month 2022. Fulbright Specialist and NYC artist Heather Massie returns to Indianapolis with her 22x Award-Winning, Internationally Acclaimed New York City show. In 2017 the show was featured in Indy's DivaFest, and was awarded with The Audience Choice Award & The Sold Out Award in IndyFringe 2017.

She introduces you to her father who encouraged her to think, her mother who taught her the importance of discipline, her first husband Fritz Mandl from whom she learned the ins and outs of munitions simply by being a fly on the wall in their own home, George Antheil who was a composer and her partner in the invention of The Secret Communication System, and many more.

Fulbright Specialist Heather Massie returns to Gamut Theatre with her award-winning, internationally-acclaimed New York City show, HEDY! The Life & Inventions of Hedy Lamarr. It will be presented at Gamut Classic Theatre, October 25-27 at 7:30 PM Friday, Saturday and 2:30 PM Sunday. The show features the unexpected scientific genius of Hollywood screen star and inventor Hedy Lamarr. Known as 'the most beautiful woman in the world', Lamarr also invented technology for torpedoes during WWII that is now used in cell phones, WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth. Written and performed by Heather Massie, its mission is to inspire audiences to find ways to make the world a better place, to encourage young women in science and technology, and to establish Hedy Lamarr as a role model for intelligence, ingenuity, and invention.

HEDY! The Life & Inventions of Hedy Lamarr explores the life, inventions and person of Hedy Lamarr, Viennese-born Hollywood film star of the 1930s-1950s. Known as The Most Beautiful Woman in the World, Hedy Lamarr stored away knowledge of munitions while married to Austrian arms dealer, Fritz Mandl. She employed this knowledge to support the US Navy's war effort during WWII by inventing The Secret Communication System with composer George Antheil, to make torpedoes more accurate. Also referred to as Frequency Hopping or Spread Spectrum Technology, her invention is used today in cell phones, WiFi, CDMA, GPS, Bluetooth and a myriad of other wireless systems.
