The Flat Rock Playhouse and the North Carolina State Theatre Garden Club Members will host their annual Plant Sale on Friday, September 21st from 9 AM - 4 PM and Saturday, September 22nd from 9 AM - 1 PM at the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage. Throughout the year, these Master Gardeners of Henderson County meticulously tend and creatively develop the beautiful gardens and landscaping that cover the iconic Flat Rock and elevate the grounds of the historic Playhouse.

Pianist Dick Hyman to Salute Al Hirschfeld at 92Y, 6/10
Wednesday, June 10 at 8PM, 92Y presents Drawing Music - Hyman's Piano Meets Hirschfeld's Pen. Legendary pianist Dick Hyman will perform music inspired by Al Hirschfeld's magically inked images of Broadway shows and music stars, while a selection of these drawings is shown on stage. Louise Kerz Hirschfeld, president of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, and David Leopold, Creative Director of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, will discuss the life and work of this original and iconic artist, and the stories behind his drawings. The National Portrait Gallery stages the first national exhibition of the First World War centenary commemorations, opening tomorrow Thursday 27 February 2014. The Great War in Portraits (27 February-15 June 2014) marks the start of a four-year public programme at the Gallery of displays and events, and workshops for young people.
