First look photos! Odyssey Theatre Ensemble presents the U.S. premiere of Yaacobi & Leidental, a funny, provocative romp with music written by Israeli playwright Hanoch Levin featuring songs by Alex Kagan, opened over the weekend in Los Angeles. Tel Aviv-based director Yonatan Esterkin helms a new translation by Naaman Tamuz that was recently commissioned by the Levin estate, and Nisha Sujatha Arunasalam is music director.
TNC Presents New Yiddish Rep In DI FROYEN" (THE WOMEN) This January
From January 22-30, Theater for the New City will present the New Yiddish Rep's production of 'Di Froyen' (The Women), based on the play 'Women's Minyan' by Naomi Ragen, adapted for the Yiddish Rep by Melissa Weisz and Malky Goldman. Director is Rachel Botchan. The play is a one-act drama of an abused Orthodox Jewish wife who is being kept from her children.
