Photo Flash: First Look at Disney's ALADDIN at Tuacahn
Take a magical carpet ride to the Southern Utah desert when Tuacahn becomes an Arabian oasis in this new stage adaptation of the beloved Disney film. Tuacahn's production is directed by Scott S. Anderson and choreographed by Deanna Dys. The show runs now through August 31 and September 3-October 19, 2012 at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre in Ivins, Utah. Tuacahn's production of Disney's "Aladdin" premiered Monday, June 4, starring Dan Domenech as Aladdin, Haley Carlucci as Princess Jasmine, Edward Juvier as Genie, and Michael G. Hawkins as Jafar. The production runs alternately with Marc Shaiman's "Hairspray" at Tuacahn Amphitheatre, an outdoor performance space nestled in a verdant valley, and surrounded by towering red rock cliffs, until October 19. Scaglione Departs WEST SIDE STORY 9/19; Sarah Amengual Takes Over 9/21
The producers of the revival of WEST SIDE STORY announced today that Broadway newcomer Sarah Amengual will be Broadway's 'Maria' beginning Tuesday, September 21, 2010. 2009 Tony Award nominee Josefina Scaglione will play her final performance as 'Maria' on Sunday, September 19, 2010. Ms. Amengual follows in this production's tradition of brining fresh new talent to the role of 'Maria.'

The best of Broadway was presented free on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 Lite fm Presents Broadway in Bryant Park 2010' - a lunchtime series which began on Thursday, July 8th at 12:30pm on the Bryant Park Stage and ended yesterday, August 12. The series, which just completed its 10 season, was sponsored by Bank of America and JCPenney 33rd & 6th, and washosted by Lite fm's on-air personalities.
Michele Pawk Joins Wagner Theater Faculty
The Wagner College Theater Department proudly announces that Tony Award-winning actress Michele Pawk will join its faculty this fall. She will teach classes in advanced acting, directing, and the history of American film as well as direct the college's Main Stage production of 'Seussical.'
WEST SIDE STORY Wins GRAMMY for Best Show Album
The new Broadway cast album of 'West Side Story' has picked up the 2010 Grammy for Best Musical Show Album. The announcement was made during the Grammy Awards' pre-telecast ceremony held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Sunday, January 31. The creative team behind the 'West Side Story' new Broadway cast album is Leonard Bernstein, composer; Stephen Sondheim, lyricist. David Caddick & David Lai produced the album which was released by Masterworks Broadway.
