The Porters of Hellsgate have announced the world premiere of DI Lady DI, written and performed by Charlotte Munson, is set to open at the Hollywood Fringe Festival on June 5th. DI Lady DI is a one woman, coming-of-age, powerhouse, new fairytale musical. Comedic and searingly innovative, DI Lady DI eschews the fairytale glamor of the People’s Princess to illuminate her struggles in a paternalistic society and dysfunctional family.

Drina Durazo and Gus Krieger are about to open an adaptation of Night of the Living Dead at Group Rep on October 4. In our conversation they talk about the excitement of presenting this Halloween treat. Gus Krieger (Writer): Original stage plays include Deity Clutch, Sherlock, Through The Looking-Glass, The Armadillo Necktie, and Breaking Bard. Awards include the Spirit of the Fringe Award for Best Writing, Scenie Awards for Best World Premiere Play and Outstanding Production, and the Valley Theatre Award for Best Play. Krieger's first produced feature screenplay a?oeThe Killing Rooma?? premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. As writer-director-producer, Krieger's films include the philosophical thriller 'The Binding,' and the award-winning hip-hop drama 'My Name Is Myeisha.' Additionally, Krieger is the Associate Artistic Director of The Porters of Hellsgate, which will become the first Los Angeles theatre company to produce the complete works of William Shakespeare.

The Group Rep's Co-Artistic Directors, Larry Eisenberg and Chris Winfield announce the Group Rep's 45th Season (2019) with six eclectic and unique plays: Laundry and Bourbon & Lone Star, two one-act comedies by James McLure, directed by Barbara Brownell (January 25 - March 3), The Secret of Chimneys, a long lost play by Agatha Christie, directed by Jules Aaron (March 29 - May 5), Avenue Q, the wry, Broadway musical written by Jeff Whitty, Music and Lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, directed by Patrick Burke (May 31 - July 7), Loose Knit, a modern comedy by Theresa Rebeck, directed by L. Flint Esquerra (August 2 - September 8), Night of the Living Dead, a gripping terror-filled drama based on the George Romero film, adapted by Gus Krieger directed by Drina Durazo (October 4 - November 10), and the beloved farce The Man Who Came to Dinner by Moss Hart and George S. The Bushwick Film Festival (BFF) has announced the full program for their 11th annual run. This year's Opening Night will be sponsored by Spectrum and kicks off on Wednesday,October 10th with a Red Carpet Reception and screening at House of Yes. The festivities will continue through Sunday,October 14th, with 40+ events ranging from feature and short film screenings to special events, parties and panels. The festival will also premiere 5 short documentaries created by 15 young storytellers from Bushwick who participated in Bushwick Stories; BFF's free summer filmmaking workshop sponsored by community partner B&H Photo and Canon.
