BIO
Since 1989, Greta has worked as a freelance writer, performer, teaching artist, and creative director at venues across the country, and has a wealth of experience in both commercial and business theatre. Greta performs regularly on stage as a member of Actor’s Equity, wrote the scripts for the last four installments of the highly successful CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES musicals, and served as creative director for the Minnesota Vikings 50th anniversary celebration. A member of the Dramatist's Guild and the Minnesota Playwright's Center, other writing projects include: the annual Medora Musical; CHRISTMAS ON THE RANCH; LEMONADE FOR THE LAWNBOY; numerous award shows and cabarets; and several other projects in development. Greta is also a voice over and commercial artist, and her company, Girl With Guitar, provides educational and entertaining programming, ranging from training seminars to company parties, for organizations across the country. PRIME Productions presents The Roommate, featuring acclaimed actors Greta Oglesby and Alison Edwards in playwright Jen Silverman's dark comedy about an unlikely pair and self-reinvention. Opening June 3 and directed by Twin Cities' theatre artist Greta Grosch, the production brings together two totally opposite women-a sheltered, newly divorced Midwesterner and a mysterious, New York vegan lesbian. BWW Review: RISE UP, OH MEN at Derby Dinner Playhouse
Let's return to the farmlands of Minnesota and visit some of the funniest Lutheran ladies that have ever graced a stage: the Church Basement Ladies. 'Rise Up, O Men' is the fifth musical addition to the continuing stories inspired from a book by Janet Letnes Martin and Suzann Nelson, entitled Growing Up Lutheran. Written by Greta Grosch, who was the original Mavis when CBL first appeared in 2005, this iteration allows a few of the men in the lives of the church to have a bit of the spotlight.
