BIO

Born April 9, 1904, to William Neil Darby and Emma May(Benty)Darby. Music and the arts were part of family life.

Grace began her acting career on the stage of the Muny Opera in St. Louis, Mo. She soon was considered a rising star and set off to New York in the mid 1920s with her Mother father and younger brother.

She recieved glowing reviews and came to the attention of a well known entertainment lawyer Joseph Timothy Patrick Sullivan (Son of the well known New York City politician "Little Tim" Sullivan). On January 26th 1933 they married, and in 1934 had a son. In the late 30's her career seemed well on its way and now included screen tests in Hollywood.

Sadly, just as the future appeared to be bright and clear, Grace was diagnosed with breast cancer and after a valiant fight she succumbed on April 19, 1940, in her Park Avenue home.
