The Spoken Soul Festival Comes to The Adrienne Arsht Center
The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, in partnership with the Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator( DVACI), and WomenArts, will present the Spoke Soul Festival (SSF) during March at the Arsht Center (1300 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132). The thought-provoking programming which celebrates how women change and impact the world kicks off on March 19th, 2020, with the SHE VOTES Panel at the Arsht Center - Knight Concert Hall Peacock Education Center at 3 pm. The SHE VOTES panel will challenge the narrative of the commemoration of the 19th Amendment and the role Florida played in the suffrage movement. The panel will be moderated by Marisol Zenteno, President of The League of Women Voters. The panel includes; Honorable Judge, Angelica D. Zayas, Jane Kyle Altman-Marketing Principal, Kaufman Rossin-Past Chair, Women's Fund Miami, Lori St John, CEO, CPA, Esq., Author & International Speaker, and a representative from Dream Defenders. The National YoungArts Foundation Launches Regional Programs in LA, NYC, and Miami
National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) President and CEO Carolina Garc a Jayaram announces details for the organization's 2018 regional programs in Miami, Los Angeles and New York. Spanning the country, YoungArts regional programs are modeled after National YoungArts Week, the organization's signature program held annually in Miami. This year, 757 YoungArts winners extraordinarily talented aspiring artists ages 15 18 or grades 10 12 from 47 states will have the opportunity to participate in classes led by master teachers such as Inna Faliks (1996 Winner in Classical Music), Marina Lomazov, Roger Bonair-Agard, Patricia Engel, Kimberly Browning, and more. Winners will participate in interdisciplinary workshops, professional development seminars and present their work to the public through performances, exhibitions and readings at world-class arts institutions in each city.
MIAMI SAYS ART 2 to Launch Art Basel Week, Set for 12/2-8
Last year's Art Basel Week kicked off with a much talked-about tribute to Miami's arts pioneers - alongside the city's new cultural visionaries - with the retrospective of visionary artist Martin Kreloff's 1976 “Miami Says Art” (which 36 years ago brought together the city's then up-and-coming arts luminaries to look into his camera and exclaim “ART”).
