In 1964 Glenn was asked to work with the famed Broadway director Edwin Sherin at The Arena Stage in Washington, DC in Millard Lampell’s The Wall, Brecht’s Galileo and Melville’s Billy Budd. It was there that producers Jay Chase and James Walsh asked Glenn to come to New York and create the starring role in and Off-Broadway drama entitled Matty, The Moron and The Madonna. Soon after, he was tapped to appear on Broadway in the play Minor Miracle written by Al Morgan. While in New York, Glenn filmed several commercials and co-starred in an Indy film entitled The Tree starring Jordan Christopher, Eileen Heckart and James Broderick. Glenn returned to The Arena Stage in ’69 to perform in the plays Marat/Sade, and Indians starring Stacy Keach.
Glenn served with the US Air Force Band from 1970 to ’74 performing with the Diplomats combo for White House and State Department functions. During his military stint, Glenn received his B.A. in drama from the University of Maryland studying under Dr. Rudolph Puglese and Dr. Roger Mearsman. After leaving the service Glenn formed and played with several musical organizations in the DC area performing classical, jazz and contemporary repertories.
In 1983 Glenn received a Master of Arts degree in Television from the University of Maryland. Since then, Glenn has worked in the free lance sector as a television production assistant, assistant director, and editor. In 1985, Glenn joined the then fledging Discovery Channel as a promotions writer, editor and assistant director. He then moved on to an education association-ASCD-as a producer. From there Glenn worked for the Howard County Public School System as a producer/director/writer/editor, and is currently a senior producer/director with the US Food and Drug Administration where his work has included major distance learning events on food safety and security, medical device regulation, foreign food import restrictions, and biological and chemical terrorism preparedness.
