Paines Plough has announced a number of new appointments across the organisation. Kully Thiarai will replace the outgoing Kim Grant as Chair of the Board, and new Trustees Lauren Dark and Farha Quadri join the Board of Trustees.

Paines Plough have today announced a special one-off event at the Criterion Theatre on 18th November and a transfer of Sam Steiner's YOU STUPID DARKNESS! to Southwark Playhouse, a co-production with Theatre Royal Plymouth. Paines Plough Announces Frankie Meredith As 2019 Playwright Fellow

Paines Plough have appointed Frankie Meredith as their 2019 fellow. THE BIG ROOM Playwright Fellowship is awarded annually to a writer of exceptional promise at the very start of their career. The Fellowship invites the writer to spend nine months on attachment to Paines Plough who design a bespoke programme for each individual to tailor the support they provide to their specific needs, ambitions and circumstances. The Fellow receives a bursary and a desk at Paines Plough and mentorship from their Artistic Directors and wider team. They offer new and interesting experiences like participating in the annual Obrador d'estiu in Barcelona, seeing international work at the Dublin Theatre Festival and Edinburgh International Festival and meeting their playwright heroes. Previous recipients include Nathan Bryon (Mixed Brain) and Charley Miles (Blackthorn) who both present World Premieres at Roundabout this summer. Dexter and Winter's Detective Agency and Daughterhood open at Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August and then tour the UK.

EVERY BRILLIANT THING Runs 9/23- 11/5 at The Armory

Local favorite Isaac Lamb will take the stage for Every Brilliant Thing, a play that tackles the impact of depression using a life-affirming list and a partly-improvised structure that engages audiences in a way never before seen at The Armory. Created by British playwright Duncan Macmillan with comedian Jonny Donahoe, Every Brilliant Thing began as a short-play-turned-art-installation before becoming a full-length theater piece that was embraced at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Off-Broadway, and adapted into an HBO movie. Associate Artistic Director Rose Riordan will direct Every Brilliant Thing in the round in the Ellyn Bye Studio the first studio show in Portland Center Stage at The Armory's 30th anniversary season. Every Brilliant Thing begins preview performances on September 23, opens on September 29 and runs through November 5.
