Savannah College Of Art And Design Announces Lineup For 2019 SCAD ATVfest
Today, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) announced the initial line-up for the 2019 SCAD aTVfest, Atlanta's only festival dedicated to television. Now in its seventh year, the university's annual signature event celebrating the television industry will be held at SCADshow on February 7 - 9, 2019. Entertainment Weekly (EW) will serve as the first ever Official Media Partner for SCAD aTVfest.
Humanitas Play LA WORKSHOP Inaugurates New Play Festival
The Humanitas Play LA Workshop is expanding its presence in Los Angeles, it was announced today. After last year's successful partnership with Centre Theatre Group, Play LA is broadening its focus. Each of the six plays developed from the ground up in this year's workshop will be given works-in-progress readings in the inaugural Humanitas Play LA Festival of New Works on April 28, 29, and 30. Six celebrated local theatres will be partnering with Humanitas to give these developing works a physical space in which to grow.
USC Libraries Name Finalists for 29th-Annual Scripter Award
The USC Libraries have named the finalists for the 29th-annual USC Libraries Scripter Award. Since 1988, Scripter has honored the authors of printed works alongside the screenwriters who adapt their stories. Last year, the USC Libraries inaugurated a new Scripter award, for television adaptation. Television and film finalists compete in separate categories.
Cinedigm Picks Up VISITORS from Godfrey Reggio, Philip Glass, & Jon Kane
Cinedigm (CIDM) has acquired all North American distribution rights to 'VISITORS,' the new film from director Godfrey Reggio, composer Philip Glass and filmmaker Jon Kane. Seven years in the making, VISITORS is the fourth film that Reggio and Glass have collaborated on following the groundbreaking, internationally acclaimed, Qatsi Trilogy formed by the films Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi. Cinedigm plans to release VISITORS theatrically in 4K throughout Fall 2013 following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival where members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra will perform Glass's score live.

Highlighting the work of more than 150 filmmakers and animators graduating from the BFA Film, Video and Animation Department, the annual awards were bestowed at the invite-only event. ARGO Navigates to USC Libraries Scripter Win
Authors Joshuah Bearman and Antonio J. Mendez and screenwriter Chris Terrio received the 25th-annual USC Libraries Scripter Award for their contributions to "Argo." Selection committee co-chair Howard Rodman announced the winners at the black-tie event on Saturday, Feb. 9, at USC's Doheny Memorial Library.
Cinedigm Scores Rights to Offbeat Assassin Flick VIOLET & DAISY
Cinedigm Entertainment Group, a division of Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. (NASDAQ: CIDM), has acquired North American distribution rights to writer-director Geoffrey Fletcher's VIOLET & DAISY, which world premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. Fletcher recently earned the Cinevation Award for his work on VIOLET & DAISY at the 2012 Savannah Film Festival. Cinedigm's theatrical distribution will commence in 2013, with subsequent roll out across on-demand, digital and DVD.
Matt Dillon Honored at 2012 Savannah Film Festival
Matt Dillon received an Outstanding Achievement in Cinema Award Nov. 2 at the 15th annual Savannah Film Festival, presented by the Savannah College of Art and Design. Dillon was honored for his work in films such as 'City of Ghosts,' 'Crash' and 'The Outsiders.'
John Goodman, Stan Lee Among Honorees at 15th Annual Savannah Film Festival
The 2012 Savannah Film Festival added Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actor John Goodman ('The Artist'), former president and chairman of Marvel Comics Stan Lee ('Spider-Man'), Pulitzer Prize winning screenwriter David Lindsay-Abaire ('Rabbit Hole') and John Gatins ('Real Steel') to its list of honorees.
