A VERY OLD MAN WITH ENORMOUS WINGS Returns Following Sold-out Run At Dublin Fringe 2019
The Abbey Theatre presents the return of Dublin Fringe box office hit A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, created by award-winning company Collapsing Horse. Based on a short story by Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez, this will be a show for all ages this Christmas season, brought to vivid life on stage using music, puppetry, and live video projection.
Dublin Theatre Festival 2019 Announces Its Programme
This year's Dublin Theatre Festival programme reflects with many contemporary topics - but also reaches beyond, to a poetic enquiry about the times we live in. Over three weeks performances include 10 World Premieres, reimagined classic texts, inspiring international projects from Australia, Belgium Estonia, Portugal, Sweden, the UK and the USA, and an expanded season of Theatre for Children.
PONDLING, 'LITTLE THING' and STOOPDREAMER Top Origin's 1st Irish Award Nominations; Ceremony Set for 9/28
The 8th annual Origin's 1st Irish Festival is announcing today that two productions from Ireland -- "Pondling" and "Little Thing, Big Thing" (both at 59E59 Theaters), and one from New York -- "Stoopdreamer" at the cell -- each attracted five nominations for the festival's top honors, which will be handed out an Awards Ceremony co-hosted by the Broadway actress Geraldine Hughes at Scandinavia House, 58 Park Avenue, on Monday September 28 at 7pm. The Festival continues through Sunday October 4.

Annual Origin's 1st Irish Festival Highlights Announced
Comedy in many varieties will be the common refrain of the 8th annual Origin's 1st Irish Festival running from September 2 to October 4. In all seven mainstage productions seen in competition (4 US premieres, 3 world premieres), plus seven special events out-of-competition will make up the five-week, month-long festival.
PONDLING Will US Premiere at 59E59 Theaters
59E59 Theaters will welcome Guna Nua Theatre Company (Dublin, Ireland) and Ramblinman with the US premiere of PONDLING, written and performed by Genevieve Hulme-Beaman and directed by Paul Meade. Part of Origin's 1st Irish Theatre Festival, PONDLING begins performances on Tuesday, September 8 for a limited engagement through Sunday, October 4. Press opening is Sunday, September 13 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday at 8:30 PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM & 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM & 7:30 PM.
