Gay Marshall Returns To Pangea This Month
Actress/singer, Gay Marshall, winner of the 2022 Bistro Award for Outstanding Recording and 2022 MAC nominee for Major Recording, celebrates the genius of Leonard Cohen in Back on Boogie Street at Pangea in New York City on May 24th and 31st and June 4th at 7PM. Marshall released her recording, Back on Boogie Street – Songs of Leonard Cohen, just before Covid lockdown.

Marshall, considered a premiere interpreter of the music of Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel, was drawn to Cohen after hearing covers of songs she didn't realize were his. "I had never thought of singing his repertoire, but then I immersed myself in his records and the glorious variety of melodies and messages hit me like a lightning bolt. I was hooked," says Marshall. "The process became a fascinating discovery of an exceptional artist who turned out to be surprisingly shy and funny, while introducing me to other remarkable musician-singers, like his sublime longtime collaborator Sharon Robinson."

The musical theatre podcast Something New premiered on January 14th, 2013. To commemorate the five-year anniversary, producer and host Joel B. New has released highlights from the series finale, which took place in concert on September 30th, 2017 at the Duplex in New York City. Ticket sales supported the Dramatists Guild Foundation.
