Gavan Pamer is a Director/Choreographer and a proud member of Actors' Equity Association. Gavan received his musical theater training at Point Park University and he began his professional acting career West Virginia Public Theatre. He served as Artistic Director at Pittsburgh Musical Theater from 2001-2004, where he directed and choreographed numerous productions. His productions of Sophisticated Ladies, The Sound of Music and Hello, Dolly! received accolades including recognition in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette?s Top 10 Best Plays. He was Associate Director/Choreographer for the national tours of The Goodbye Girl and Hello, Dolly! and his choreography has been seen at WVPT, Pittsburgh CLO, Temple Theatre and many other theaters. At Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret, he was Production Stage Manager for the original run of Forever Plaid and Xanadu, and choreographed My Way. Gavan served as Founding Artistic Director of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, Founding Director of Theatre for Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School and helped create Henry Mancini Arts Academy, the 50th All-Steinway School in the world. At LPPAC he created the Professional Company, Student Company and Dance Company. Some favorite directing credits at LPPAC include Jesus Christ Superstar in Concert, White Christmas, The Odd Couple, Oklahoma!, Joseph..., Side by Side by Sondheim, The Wizard of Oz, Little Shop of Horrors, Annie, My Fair Lady, Once on This Island and CATS. His recent directorial and choreography projects inclue: Big River, Beauty and the Beast, and Anything Goes (Temple Theatre Company), The Musical of Musicals (off the WALL Productions), and Beauty and the Beast (WVPT). As a performer he toured nationally in CATS (Mungojerrie), 42nd Street and A Chorus Line and has performed with numerous theaters in Pittsburgh and across the country including Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Public Theater, Temple Theatre, Pittsburgh Playhouse Rep. Company, TheatreVirginia, Geva Theatre, Tennessee Rep., St. Louis Rep., Cincinnati Playhouse, Westport Country Playhouse, Ogunquit Playhouse, Gateway Playhouse, and Cape Playhouse. Notable performances include 1776 (John Adams), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Hysterium), The Fantasticks (Hucklebee), Guys and Dolls (Benny Southstreet), The Addams Family (Uncle Fester), Damn Yankees (Van Buren), Dames at Sea (Hennesy/Captain), Man of La Mancha (Padre), Joseph...(Reuben), Evita (Che), Chicago (Mary Sunshine), The Who?s Tommy (Tommy), Blood Brothers (Mickey), Nunsense A-Men! (Sr. Amnesia), Jesus Christ Superstar (Pilate/Annas/Simon), George M! (George Cohan), West Side Story, (Tony), Gypsy (Tulsa), Big River (Huck), Peter Pan (Peter). Gavan currently serves as Marketing and Development Director at Temple Theatre in Sanford NC.
