South Bend Civic Theatre to Present 1776
In this year of the presidential election and the bicentennial celebration of the Hoosier state, the South Bend Civic Theatre is presenting 1776 in the Wilson Theatre. The original, Broadway production of this musical depiction of the birth of our nation won the Tony Award for Best Musical and now this theatrical, historical journey comes to South Bend for three weekends between April 15th and May 1st. A wonderful cast of volunteer actors illuminate the story of the Second Continental Congress for a unique perspective of this iconic event in our nation's history: with men that are emotional, proud, uncertain, charming, and irritable humans wanting the best for their families.
BWW Review: THE MUSIC MAN Spares No Detail
The Music Man opened Friday the 29th of January at The South Bend Civic Theatre with no detail spared on trying to make the classic musical come to life. The musical, whose book, music, and lyrics are by Meredith Willson with the story by both Willson and Franklin Lacey, became an instant hit in 1957 when it opened on Broadway. It won five Tony Awards, including 'Best Musical', and ran for more than 1,300 performances. It also inspired revivals, a film adaptation, a television remake, and won the first 'Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album'.
South Bend Civic Theatre to Present Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS
Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features many of Irving Berlin's finest songs showcased in a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. World War II veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have become a successful song-and-dance team. When they meet a duo of beautiful singing sisters, they follow them to a Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, run by their former army commander. Featuring dazzling standards such as "Blue Skies," "I Love a Piano, "How Deep is the Ocean," this show will have you dreaming of a "White Christmas."

South Bend Civic Theatre brings fun back to the Firehouse Theatre for the regional premiere of Treasure Island: A Musical Panto, book by Kathryn Peterson, music and lyrics by Michael Ogbom. SBCT introduces audiences to the world of the Panto - a theatrical form of knockabout farce! Taking the classic tale of pirates and adventure, a whole new staging will entertain and amuse with vaudeville style gags, music and larger than life characters. Audiences will experience a show full of rollicking fun, broad physical comedy, lots of audience participation and introduce this high energy style of the Panto to young and old.

Warner Studio Theatre Presents SUPERIOR DONUTS, 6/1-10
The only thing more run down than the Uptown Chicago donut shop is its owner. Despondent, disengaged, and out of touch, Arthur doesn't even register the vandalism of his store. Even the colorful array of characters in the neighborhood can't bring him out of his shell - the local bag lady, the Russian video store owner next door, the two cops checking out the damage. Only when charismatic young Franco Wicks enters the store and practically forces himself into being hired does the spark of life begin to take hold for Arthur. Brilliant but carrying secrets, Franco's troubles crash into Arthur's sheltered world and force him to finally take a stand.
