A benefit concert of TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA featuring Chuck Cooper, Taylor Iman Jones, and André De Shields will take place on December 16th at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space.

Connecticut Stage Company will kick off its second season with Hair in Concert, led by Kevin Clay (The Book of Mormon) as Claude, Mariah Lyttle (The Wiz, Bad Cinderella) as Dionne, Ashley LaLonde (Hamilton Nat'l Tour) as Sheila, and Jay Roberts Miller (A Bronx Tale & Tina Nat'l Tours) as Berger.

Producer Eric Krebs and Mark Saltzman, Emmy Award-winner and author of Romeo and Bernadette, will present industry readings of The Brat of Stratford: William Shakespeare’s Cabaret of Stories, Songs and Scenes, written and directed by Mark Saltzman, starring Tony Award nominee Robert Cuccioli.

HAIR is not your typical linear, point A to point B musical. It roughly ambles through vignettes of the members of a “tribe” of hippies in New York City. And yet, HAIR is as important as it is subversive. Without it, shows such as RENT, ANGELS IN AMERICA, and HAMILTON probably wouldn’t stand a chance to make it to Broadway.
