MoBBallet Adds Four New Orbits To The Constellation Project: Mapping The Dark Stars Of Ballet

Starting February 5th Memoirs of Blacks in Ballet (MoBBallet.org) will launch four new orbits to its popular The Constellation Project: Mapping the Dark Stars of Ballet: Raven Wilkinson, the First Negro Classic Ballet Company, American Ballet Theatre's Negro Unit and Agne de Mille's The Four Marys, and Janet Collins. 
University Of North Carolina School Of The Arts Names Endalyn Taylor Dean Of The School Of Dance

The University of North Carolina School of the Arts has named dancer, choreographer, and educator Endalyn Taylor as its new dean of the School of Dance effective August 1. She will lead the conservatory's dance program, which develops technically sound and stylistically versatile professional dancers through training in both classical and contemporary dance.

It is with great sadness that we report Frederick Franklin's death at age 98. One of the most elegant, charming and seemingly versatile male ballet stars of the 20th century, and into the 21st, Franklin brought real class to whatever he was performing. He danced with almost every major ballerina, and had works choreographed for him by Balanchine, Massine and de Mille, among a host of others.
