Kennedy Center Announces DEMO: NOW
Damian Woetzel continues his innovative interdisciplinary series uniting artists from across fields in a special one-night only performance, March 7 in the Terrace Theater. Part of the inaugural DIRECT CURRENT, the Kennedy Center's two-week celebration of contemporary culture, this installment of the multi-genre series will present recently commissioned works, including a world premiere, and Washington, D.C. premieres by some of today's most creative and groundbreaking voices in dance and music.
Bookworks February Highlights Features Sue Monk Kidd and More
Sue Monk Kidd's previous books, The Secret Lives of Bees and The Mermaid Chair were New York Times best-sellers, earning the author international acclaim and translations into thirty-six languages. The popular writer's new novel, The Invention of Wings, was released January 7 and is Oprah Winfrey's next book club selection. On February 14, Ms. Kidd visits Albuquerque for an evening presentation at the Albuquerque Academy.
ABC Family Greenlights Three New Pilots
ABC Family, the millennial-skewing network, has greenlit three additional pilots to add to its production slate -- "Terminales," a one hour drama adapted from a successful Televisa series, and two new comedies, "Phys Ed" and "Continuing Fred."
