John Lithgow Joins PET SEMATARY Remake
According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor John Lithgow has been officially added to the cast of the upcoming PET SEMATARY remake. He joins the previously announced Jason Clarke. CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF was always the playwright's favorite among all his plays. Theatre Palisades is presenting the original version of the script as written by Tennessee Williams before Eli Kazan, who was already hired to direct both Broadway and the film version, forced him to re-write the script to conform to the mores in McCarthy era 1955. This compelling original version has been professionally produced only two times, in 1958 in London and in 1974 on Broadway with Elizabeth Ashley, Keir Dullea and Fred Gwynne.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY & More Among Boomerang's Halloween Programming
Boomerang will offer new spooky programming this October with the first-time premiere Cartoon Network's original animated series, The Grim Adventures of Bill & Mandy, playing for a full hour on Saturday and Sunday nights, startingSaturday, Oct. 12 at midnight (ET). The month-long celebration of spine-tingling content also includes Boomerang's presentations of the 1964 live-action series The Munsters and 1964's The Addams Family, both of which will be telecast back-to-back on weekdays at 2:30 and 3 p.m., and weeknights at midnight (ET), respectively. More ghostly animated fare in October will include the award-winning 1993 holiday special, The Halloween Tree, on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 9 a.m., and the weekday afternoon presentation of Hanna-Barbera's Goober and the Ghost Chasers, which will play at 12 p.m.

Today, we're featuring Fred Gwynne circa 1984. teve Zissou, an appearance on Arrested Development and more. Gwynne was best known for his roles in the 1960s sitcoms Car 54, Where Are You? and The Munsters, as well as his later roles in Pet Sematary and My Cousin Vinny. In 1974, he appeared in the role of Big Daddy Pollitt in the Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Elizabeth Ashley, Keir Dullea and Kate Reid. In 1975 he played the Stage Manager in Our Town at the American Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford, Connecticut. He returned to Broadway in 1976 as Colonel J. C. Kinkaid in two parts of A Texas Trilogy.

Jerry O'Connell Cast as Herman Munster in NBC Reboot
Deadline.com reports that Jerry O'Connell has been cast in the role of Herman Munster on NBC's upcoming reboot of its 1960's series 'The Munsters.' The actor will join previously announced cast members Eddie Izzard and Charity Wakefield in the pilot titled MOCKINGBIRD LANE.
