Musical Theatre Workshop 2017 Begins Today at Theatre Royal Stratford East
Theatre Royal Stratford East's annual Musical Theatre Workshop will take place 17-28 July as 12 artists take over the building to develop 6 new musicals under the guidance of TRSE's artistic team including MT New Writing Manager Sevan Tavoukdjian and MTW facilitators Fred Carl and Robert Lee, specialist tutors from NYU's prestigious Tisch's School of the Arts which runs the world's only graduate programme focused on musical theatre writing.
4th Wall Theatre to Present TAKE ONE This Weekend
4th Wall Theatre, a non union professional theatre in Bloomfield, NJ is presenting a new musical comedy, Take One, written by former SNL writer Jeff Ward. The show is being presented as part of the group's MID (Musicals-in-Development) Stage Series.

LaChanze to Lead 'BUBBLY BLACK GIRL' Reunion Concert at 54 Below Next Month
The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) will present a reunion concert of Kirsten Childs' THE BUBBLY BLACK GIRL SHEDS HER CHAMELEON SKIN on March 30, 2015 at 7pm at 54 Below. The concert will be directed by original cast member Jerry Dixon (If/Then) with original music director Fred Carl (Miracle Brothers) leading members of the original band.
SHREK Begins 5/16 at Barn Theatre
The Barn Theatre of Montville, NJ will be presenting 'Shrek the Musical'. Performances will be on May 16, 23, 24, 30, 31, June 6 and 7 at 8pm; and on May 17, 18, 25, June 1 at 2pm. Tickets are $24 (senior/student tickets are $22 on matinees only).

For her all-new 10th anniversary production, Taylor has engaged community partners and used workshops to explore and deepen the spoken word, dance and music elements in Crowns. Rhinebeck Writers Retreat Announces Musical Theatre Writers for Inaugural Year
Kathy Evans, Founder and Executive Director of the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced the fourteen musical theatre writers who will participate for the inaugural summer in July and August. The Rhinebeck Writers Retreat provides a one-week residency for a musical theatre writing team to create and refine their musical in Rhinebeck, New York.

Asia Society announces that Tony Award-winning star of Law & Order: SVU, BD Wong will lead the cast of a staged concert of 'Heading East', a Richard RodgersDevelopment Award-winning musical by Robert Lee and Leon Ko. Performances will be held in the Lila Acheson Wallace Auditorium at Asia Society. Asia Society will benefit from the proceeds of the event, which is co-produced by Andrew Asnes and directed by Darren Lee.
