The NYC Web Fest has announced that submissions are now open for its 11th annual edition. From November 8th to the 10th, 2024, creators, industry professionals, and enthusiasts from around the world will gather in the heart of New York City to celebrate the best in web series, short films, and pilot episodes.

The Ruth Page Civic Ballet is proud to present its annual production of The Nutcracker, choreographed by Ruth Page and co-directed by Victor Alexander and Dolores Lipinski Long. This production, celebrating its 50th anniversary this holiday season, will be performed at Northeastern Illinois University, 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Avenue in Chicago, Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 6 at 1 and 5 p.m. and at the Ravinia Festival, 200 Ravinia Park Road in Highland Park Dec 13 at 3 and 6 p.m. Tickets for NEIU are $25 for general admission, $20 for seniors and children under the age of 12 and $10 for NEIU students, faculty and staff, one ticket per I.D. card. Also available is 'Tea with Clara,' a delightful tea party which patrons can enjoy with their favorite The Nutcracker characters from 3:15 - 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. Tickets for 'Tea with Clara' include admission to the tea party and either 1 or 5 p.m. show, are $85 for adults and $50 for children under the age of 12. Tickets for the Ravinia performances are $10 reserved seating. Performance tickets are now on sale and may be purchased at www.ruthpage.org. The Minnesota Orchestra Performs Two Concerts in Cuba This Weekend
Minnesota Orchestra President and CEO Kevin Smith announced today that the Minnesota Orchestra will perform two concerts in Cuba this weekend, May 15 and 16, becoming the first U.S. orchestra to give performances in Cuba since President Obama took steps to normalize relations between the countries in December 2014. At the invitation of the Cuban Ministry of Culture, Music Director Osmo Vänskä and the Orchestra will perform as part of Havana's International Cubadisco Festival. One of the two concerts they play will feature the Beethoven Choral Fantasy with the Cuban National Choir and Cuban pianist Frank Fernandez. The trip, which will also include community engagement activities, provides a modern-day link to the Minnesota Orchestra's storied travel history, which includes tours to Havana in both 1929 and 1930.
Actor's Express Set for Westside Momentum Initiative
The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, in partnership with the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN), has announced that Actor's Express has been selected to take part in Westside Momentum, a three- year capacity building initiative of the Westside Neighborhood Prosperity Fund designed to increase the impact and sustainability of organizations based in Atlanta's historic Castleberry Hill, English Avenue and Vine City neighborhoods.
