Asia Society Texas Center Opens New Exhibition SUPER SARAP
Asia Society Texas Center (ASTC) unveils a new mixed-media exhibition entitled Super Sarap on March 16, marking a number of firsts for ASTC: the exhibition is the Center's first to feature Filipino American artists, the first to focus on food, and all four artists are all making their Texas debuts.

From Friday, October 13, through Sunday, October 15, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, presents the 5th annual Houston Turkish Film Festival. This year's line-up includes five acclaimed releases from Turkey, including the award-winning film Iftarlik Gazoz (61 Days), portraying the cultural habits of rural villagers by telling the story of a young boy during the 1970s; The Turkish Way, highlighting The Roca Brothers and their five-week tour discovering Turkey's rich cuisine; and more.
The 9th Annual Houston Cinema Arts Festival to Showcase Houston Filmmakers
The 9th Annual Houston Cinema Arts Festival, which takes place Nov. 9 13, has a renewed sense of purpose in the wake of Hurricane Harvey's devastating impact on the City of Houston. HCAF17 will continue to thread all of Houston's arts through film in fresh and exciting ways, including the activation of unique partner venues and a firm commitment to Houston's independent filmmakers. To that end, this year's festival will showcase portraits of artists by Houston filmmakers. Two of the films will be world premieres by Houston directors, whose subjects are important Houston visual artists.
