The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues will host a special edition tonight in support of Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC. The actors performing the series of Viral Monologues will include: Deborah S. Horizon Theatre Co's SHEDDIN' Set for National Black Theatre Festival, 7/12-8/25

After a sizzling world premiere in 2012 at Horizon Theatre Company, Thomas W. Jones II's doo-wop hip-hop comedy Sheddin' has been awarded a slot at the prestigious National Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina this summer. Performances of Sheddin' will be Tuesday, July 30th and Wednesday, July 31st at 3 PM and 8 PM at the University North Carolina School of the Arts Catawba Theatre. Held biennially, the Festival will run July 29 - August 3 and feature over 100 theatrical performances for crowds of nearly 60,000.
SHEDDIN' World Premiere Plays Horizon Theatre, Now thru Aug 19

Bebop meets hip hop as generations collide in Horizon Theatre's second world premiere of the season, Sheddin' by Thomas W. Jones II. The raucous comedy set in an Atlanta backyard follows up on Jones' 2009 hit A Cool Drink A Water, called "an unexpected breath of fresh air" by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The summer hoopla filled with humor echoing the legendary Kings of Comedy kicks off tonight, July 13th and continues for a seven-week run through August 19th.
