Dixon Place presents fools in plein air: fermented rain, a new puppet theater commission by Patti Bradshaw, featuring Marie-Helene Brabant, Patrick Gallagher, Valerie Striar and Lissy Vomacka, with costumes by Dorke Poelz and sound and projection design by Andrew Murdock.
'Nick Mauss: Transmissions' To Open At The Whitney

For his first solo museum show in the United States, artist Nick Mauss (b. 1980) will present Transmissions, an exhibition conceived for the Whitney, which explores the reciprocal relationship of modernist ballet and the avant-garde in New York from the 1930s through '50s. The exhibition-which features daily dance performances in the Whitney's eighth-floor Hurst Family Galleries-goes on view March 16.

Jewish Museum Presents First Major US Exhibition Devoted To Florine Stettheimer

The first major U.S. exhibition in over 20 years focused on Florine Stettheimer opens at the Jewish Museum on May 5, 2017, and will remain on view through September 24, 2017. Painting Poetry showcases over 50 paintings and drawings in addition to costume and theater designs, photographs...placing her centrally in the modern dialogue of high and mass culture.
Museum Mile Festival to Take Place in NYC, 6/13

Now celebrating its 39th year, the annual Museum Mile Festival takes place rain or shine on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.  Over 1.5 million people have taken part in this annual celebration since its inception. Festival attendees can walk the Mile on Fifth Avenue between 82nd Street and 105th Street while visiting seven of New York City's finest cultural institutions, which are open free to the public throughout the evening. The Museum Mile Festival's opening ceremony takes place at 5:45pm at El Museo del Barrio (Fifth Avenue at 104th Street).
