Florencia Iriondo (Writer, Performer, Showrunner) Florencia is a true citizen of the world. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she lived in New Zealand and Ireland and has been in New York since 2013.
Florencia is an artist-in-residence at New York Stage and Film, The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, a lyricist at the Tony-Honored BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Advanced Workshop, a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and NYC Department of Cultural Affairs Creative Engagement grant recipient, and a member of The Dramatists Guild.
SOUTH, her original musical about family and belonging, was presented at the New York Stage and Film 2021 Summer Season, and workshopped at the inaugural winter residency at The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. It’s coming to Nuyorican Poets Cafe on March 30th, 2023. A staged reading directed by Tatiana Pandiani was presented at New York Theatre Workshop (2022). Other readings took place at the HB Studio Playwrights Reading Series (2021), The Core Club (2020), Arts on Site (2020), and The Players Club (2019). The music debuted by curation at a sold-out concert at Feinstein’s/54 Below (2019). Florencia’s previous song cycle “Who's Flo” was awarded by the Global Music Awards and the Hollywood Songwriting Contest. Other projects include the two-person musical “In The Other Room” with Jackson Talley in progress at the BMI Musical Theater Workshop and an untitled musical with Jessica Huang and Federico Diaz with support from NAMT and Seattle Rep.
Florencia is the founding showrunner of LinkedIn original video and podcast series, having previously worked at MTV Viacom, Sky TV, and numerous TV shows in Argentina. She has studied musical theater at Estudio Julio Bocca, Stella Adler Studio, sketch writing at Upright Citizens Brigade, filmmaking at NYFA, and has a B.A. in Communications at Universidad Austral, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
