On Sunday June 13 at 3pm, Origin Theatre Company will present the 8th annual edition of its popular immersive Bloomsday celebration, renamed the “Bloomsday Revel.” the distance-safe, in-person staging mixes a juried costume contest and dramatic readings from “Ulysses” -- performed by a cast of celebrated New York-based Irish actors.

He will bring the holiday tale to life using the venue's gorgeous backdrop as inspiration.

Irish Arts Center (IAC), a multidisciplinary center dedicated to bringing people of all backgrounds together through the excellence and dynamism of Irish arts and culture, announces its Spring 2019 season a cross-section of the exhilarating theater, music, dance, literature, art, and genre-defying performance coming from Ireland and Irish America, alongside educational events engaging participants with an array of rich traditions. With performances as wide-ranging as Margaret McAuliffe's acclaimed one-woman play The Humours of Bandon, Declan O'Rourke's epic song cycle Chronicles of the Great Irish Famine, and Paul Muldoon's performance adaptation of a 1773 Irish poem, IAC provides an intimate home for artists' boldest visions. As construction on IAC's landmark permanent new home in Hell's Kitchen takes place just beyond the organization's original location, IAC's vast ambition and accomplishment will be on full display, outside and in, throughout Spring 2019.

Though we condemned as a society the April 1999 massacre that left 15 dead and 21 wounded, school shootings across the United States have increased dramatically since then. The latest government figures show the dilemma has significantly worsened over the last two years: both the number of school shootings and the fatalities incurred in them more than doubled between 2017 and 2018. That total includes the 17 students and staff killed last February at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

When Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris went on a shooting spree on April 20, 1999 at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado that killed 15 and injured 20, it became part of a history that we have yet to be able to escape, a division of 'Before Columbine' and 'After Columbine.' On January 10-20, Innovocative Theatre, known for their thought-provoking, edgy performances, will bring COLUMBINUS, a mixture of fact and fiction, to Stageworks. Leading an eight-person ensemble are Nick Hoop and Ryan Fisher in the roles of Eric and Dylan.

New York's only immersive Bloomsday Breakfast -- hosted by Origin Theatre Company and Bloom's Tavern, 208 East 58th Street -- will be bursting with talent this year in an expanded edition, at a new time. Landing on a Saturday, the June 16 free event will begin at 11:30am instead of the usual time and feature an expanded line-up of talent and a juried costume competition that will be bigger and more festive than ever.
