2022 Van Lier Fellowship Recipient Announced
The Asian American Arts Alliance has announced the selection of Connor Sen Warnick for its 2022 Van Lier Fellowship. The fellowship includes a $6,000 unrestricted cash award and eight months of professional development training and career support to foster the next milestone of Warnick's artistic career.
Times Square Arts Presents Jeffrey Gibson's SHE NEVER DANCES ALONE For March Midnight Moment
Times Square Arts, the largest public platform for contemporary performance and visual arts, is pleased to present She Never Dances Alone (2019) by artist Jeffrey Gibson, which will be on view for the month of March as part of the organization's Midnight Moment series. Midnight Moment is the world's largest, longest-running digital art exhibition, synchronized on electronic billboards throughout Times Square nightly from 11:57pm to midnight. BRIC Announces Winners Of $100K Art Prize
BRIC, Brooklyn's leading presenter of arts and cultural programming, is pleased to announce the recipients of the first Colene Brown Art Prize, which awards ten under-recognized New York-based visual artists with $10,000 unrestricted grants. The Colene Brown Art Prize is underwritten by artist and BRIC Board Member Deborah Brown in memory of her late mother, Colene Brown, and is funded through the Harold and Colene Brown Family Foundation.

The Brooklyn Museum presents KAWS: 'ALONG THE WAY,' an exhibition of work by KAWS, the internationally acclaimed Brooklyn-based artist who bridges the gap between art and pop culture in his large-scale sculptures and meticulous, brightly colored paintings. The exhibition, on view today, June 10 through December 6, 2015, will highlight ALONG THE WAY, an 18-foot-high wood sculpture that will occupy a prominent position in the Museum's lobby; it is the first piece by KAWS to be acquired by the Brooklyn Museum.

Project EATS to Run Farm Stand on Thursdays in Front of Brooklyn Museum, Beg. 7/17
Fresh produce will be sold from a farm stand in front of the Brooklyn Museum's glass front entrance beginning Thursday, July 17 from 3:30 p.m. until 9 p.m., and continuing every Thursday through the summer and fall. Project EATS will sell produce grown on their community farms in several New York neighborhoods, including Brownsville and East New York in Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Museum to Present CROSSING BROOKLYN, On View 10/3-1/4/2015
The Brooklyn Museum continues its long tradition of focusing on Brooklyn-based artists with a major survey featuring more than one hundred works by thirty-five artists or artist groups who live and/or work in Brooklyn. Crossing Brooklyn, on view from October 3, 2014, through January 4, 2015, will feature work in virtually every medium, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, installation, video, and performance. While most of the exhibition will take place in the galleries and on the grounds of the Brooklyn Museum, there will also be programming off-site in the streets, waterways, and other public spaces of Brooklyn.

A retrospective of fifty works created by the Brooklyn-based art collective known as The Bruce High Quality Foundation, which takes its name from a fictional artist named Bruce High Quality who supposedly perished in 9/11, will be presented at the Brooklyn Museum from today, June 28 through September 22, 2013. The Bruce High Quality Foundation: Ode to Joy, 2001-2013 will include a wide range of work by a group whose production has included subversive and often humorous installation art, live performance, film, and social sculpture in the tradition of agit-prop.

Raw/Cooked Series Continues at the Brooklyn Museum
An exhibition featuring three related painting and sculpture installations created by Brooklyn artist Caitlin Cherry for the Brooklyn Museum is the latest in the continuing Raw/Cooked series of work by under-the-radar Brooklyn artists, presented with support from Bloomberg. The exhibition, Hero Safe, will be on view June 7 through September 1, 2013.
LaToya Ruby Frazier: A HAUNTED CAPITAL Exhibition Opens at Brooklyn Museum Today
The exhibition, LaToya Ruby Frazier: A Haunted Capital, on view today, March 22 through August 11, explores the effects of industrialization and de-industrialization on the lives of individuals and communities through photographs of the artist's family and of Braddock, Pennsylvania, home of one of America's first steel mills. Located outside of Pittsburgh, Braddock has a population below 2,500 and has been declared a 'distressed municipality' by the state of Pennsylvania.
