Birth Place: Petaluma
Ethan Brooks Paisley was born on August 1st, 2000 in Petaluma, California. His acting career commenced at age five on the stage of Cinnabar Theater, where he played notable roles including Romeo in Romeo and Juliet as well as Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors. His theater experience later landed him roles in various independent films, such as Red Ribbon (2010), Unspoken[2] (2015), and most recently, Veronica[3] (2017), as well as a deal with a prestigious, San Francisco-based talent agency[4].
His transition to acting on the screen sparked a new interest in filmmaking, inspiring the formation of his comedy sketch YouTube channel, self titled 'ethanpaisley', which ran from 2011 to 2015[5]. The channel grossed over 800,000 views across 30 videos in less than a year. Hit titles include Mom Reacts to Miley Cyrus[6], Avril Lavigne-Here's To Never Growing Up Parody[7], and Carrie Parody[8]. Paisley's comedy work motivated his first dramatic work, Victoria's Vengeance[9] (2013), a 40 minute short film loosely based on an Agatha Christie Novel, Death on The Nile. Following the release of his short, Paisley ventured to Idyllwild Arts Academy during the summer of 2013 and 2014 for courses in film production[10]. A 14 year old entering high school, Paisley explored the medium of filmmaking through short films he uploaded to his YouTube channel, a production internship at California Poppy Productions, and further acting work on set of productions such as Unspoken [11] (2015), Boo Men [12](2015), and "Veronica"[13] (2016). Nearing the end of his freshman year, Ethan Paisley wrote, directed, produced, and edited an 80 page feature film, The Art of Escape[14], which he funded through Kickstarter. The Art of Escape was released October 30, 2015, received 10 festival nominations, three wins, plus a European distribution deal with Intellect Pictures[15].
The success of his first feature inspired Paisley to establish his own production company, Take18 Entertainment in January of 2016[16]. The company offers commercial services to the community of Sonoma County, California, and puts 50% of profits towards narrative production work[17]. The company most notably produced a sizzle reel for an untitled SpikeTV project that was greenlighted in 2016[18]. Funds from commercial work allowed the company to produce 10 short films, all of which were recognized more than once in film festivals internationally. Popular titles include (dis)connected, The Egoic Trinity, and Annoiato[19]. With additional crowdfunding support in 2016, Paisley's company was also able to produce a 60 page feature film, titled Point 453[20]. The picture was locked in December of 2016, and immediately signed a distribution deal with sales agents at Adler & Associates Entertainment[21]. The film was also accepted to the Au Contraire Film Festival in Montréal, and will be screening at the 2017 Marché du Film as part of the Festival de Cannes[22]. Following the completion of his second feature film, Ethan Paisley released short film Playing The Game at the end of 2016[23]. The film attracted the attention of renowned American production companies who will be optioning a feature length version of the script for funding.
Ethan Paisley is currently developing the feature version of Playing The Game, as well as working with Rabbit Bandini[24], owned by James Franco on pre-production for a feature film titled The Art of Love. He
Paisley has been featured in Teenplicity Magazine[25], KQED Radio, The San Francisco Chronicle, among other periodicals. He plans on attending university in 2018 & moving his business enterprise to Los Angeles directly after.[26]
