Asians Strike Back: A Coronavirus Comedy & Science Show Comes to Caveat NYC
Kyle Marian (Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Woke AF, Asian AF, The Symposium: Academic StandUp) and Esther Chen (Asian Comedy Festival, HBO Succession) are bringing together some of NYC's best Asian comedians and researchers to strike back at the Coronavirus! This all-Asian variety show will tackle the science and racism around the COVID-19 outbreak. Get ready to laugh and learn about viral infections, fighting misinformation, sino-phobia, and the latest face mask fashion directly from Asian experts.
Athena Theatre Is Back At Symphony Space
For one night only on May 15th, 2019, 7 actors will perform 7 short works by 7 emerging playwrights participating in Athena Theatre Company's Athena Writes 2019 Playwriting Fellowship. Proceeds from the evening will seed the further growth and development of Athena Writes fellows and their projects.
ABC Talent and Casting to Present the 2018 ABC Discovers: New York Talent Showcase
ABC Talent and Casting will present the 2018 ABC Discovers: New York Talent Showcase, TUESDAY, SEPT. 25 at the New World Stages – Stage 2, in New York City. Part of Disney|ABC Television's ongoing commitment to create opportunities for undiscovered talent, the showcase features selected participants performing in a one-night showcase for casting directors, talent agents, managers and other industry professionals. In addition, the selected showcase actors are awarded a one-year mentorship with executives from the ABC Casting Department. As part of the mentorship, the showcase actors will be offered on-camera workshops specifically for them to further hone their craft and auditioning skills. Talent will also have access to various ABC and ABC Studios executives.

U.S. Premiere of BEHIND THE MASK Set for TNC, Now thru 7/12
An ancient myth about blood and honor reveals the secret life of a Chinese theater troupe in the dark comedy 'Behind the Mask -- a Play' by Chinese authors Feng BaiMing and Huang WeiRuo, which is being newly adapted by Yangtze Repertory Theatre in a production helmed by Chinese-born director Chongren Fan. The play will be performed in Mandarin Chinese with English subtitles and will be completely accessible for English-speaking audiences. English translation is by Kristen Hung. This U.S. premiere will be presented by Yangtze Rep tonight, June 25 to July 12 at Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue, East Village.
