IN SCENA! Celebrates 10 Years With Two Italian Shows At Hall Of Nations
In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY celebrates its 10th anniversary with two Italian shows at Hall of Nations. The festival will also be held in San Diego, Santa Rosa, Calgary, and Lethbridge from October 27 to November 5, 2023. Carlotta Corradi Receives First Mario Fratti Award for Emerging Italian Playwrights
Italian realist playwright Carlotta Corradi was awarded the first Mario Fratti Award for Emerging Italian Playwrights on June 24 at the concluding event of the In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY, which was held at Italian Cultural Institute, 686 Park Ave. The award recognizes her new play, 'Via dei Capocci,' which was given a staged reading by the Festival the day before at Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue.
Kairos Italy Theater to Hold 2nd In Scena! Italian Theater Festival, 6/9-24
Kairos Italy Theater, the preeminent Italian theater company in NYC, will present its second In Scena! Italian Theater Festival (www.inscenany.com) in all five boroughs from June 9 to 24, 2014. The event will feature six full productions and four readings. Production highlights include 'Hanno tutti ragione' (Everybody's Right), performed by Iaia Forte, a leading actress in Paolo Sorrentino's film 'The Great Beauty' (Best Foreign Language Film, 2014 Academy Awards). The play is based on a book by Sorrentino. Other programming highlights include a series of plays and readings dealing with soccer, celebrating the 2014 Soccer World Cup.

From June 10 to 20, Kairos Italy Theater (KIT) presented the 'In Scena! Italian Theater Festival' NY, the first Italian theater festival to take place annually in all five New York City boroughs and beyond. Laura Caparrotti, Artistic Director of KIT and Founding Director of the Festival, reports that attendance was about 800 people throughout this two-week celebration of Italian theater, which was held in intimate venues in all five boroughs.
