BIO

At the age of five Erich Schuett started performing in front of crowds and by the age of nine he was already singing, dancing, and acting in competitive engagements. While Erich loves to perform - he has appeared in European venues and multiple US cities spanning Los Angeles to New York City - this grounded 14-year-old performer has one mission – continue to train properly and continuously with passion! Erich's hard work and talent paid off when he was tapped to play Friedrich for the Broadway 50th Anniversary National Tour of The Sound of Music. Once off tour Erich’s musical abilities continued to be highlighted, as he was selected as a finalist in the American Protégé International Vocal Competition and sang at Carnegie Hall Stern Auditorium. He was selected a winner in the Junior Division, NY Lyric Opera Competition, and was asked to perform on The Harry Connick Jr TV Show. He has performed in and sang Tosca, Macbeth, and in multiple cabarets all over NYC. Erich was selected as a 2018 Honors Performance Series Sydney Opera House Finalist, and had a 2017 Grammy consideration for his first professional recording “A Christmas Presence”. He was given the honor of being the first and the youngest American artist to be invited to Italy to train in the art of Belcanto, where he was honored to be invited to sing with the Belcanto Italiano Foundation in the home of famous tenor Beniamino Gigli. Erich recently wrapped filming his first feature film “18 To Party” and has appeared in other films, commercials, and TV episodes and is currently the voice of Bazooka Joe and is representing Scholastic Books on national and international TV ads. Erich is currently enrolled at Manhattan School of Music Pre-College and has recently started writing original music.

Live Virtual Cabaret Raises Funds For Malignant Hyperthermia Association

While the second LYRICS FOR A CAUSE didn't happen in March as planned due to COVID-19 shutdowns, talented young performers joyfully sang in a virtual cabaret held Friday night live from their own homes. The cabaret, which was hosted by Spotlight Kidz (Pottsville, PA), was a benefit event for the Malignant Hyperthermia Association of the United States (MHAUS).

VIDEO: Teens Come Together for Covenant House in #WeHaveAVoice Benefit Concert

On October 15, teens from stage and screen came together at The Green Room 42 to perform a show they created, entitled #WeHaveaVoice. They played to a packed, sold-out house, singing songs with themes relevant to them including dreams and aspirations, belonging, family, and love. Their benefit concert raised over $2,500 for Covenant House, an organization they felt is important, relevant, and in need of their help, especially after the devastating weather that caused damage to seven of their shelters. Thommie Retter (Billy Elliot) and Retter Entertainment ring in the holidays for the HOW MANY consecutive year with This Way To Broadway Live: Jingle Jam!, an original musical/song and dance showcase for audiences of all ages on Sunday, December 4 at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre, 10 West 64th Street. The show brings together talented kid performers from the stage and screen-many of whom have already appeared on Broadway and on tour-and others who are Broadway bound. The script was penned by mother/daughter writing team Sheryl Berk and Carrie Berk (Peace, Love & Cupcakes: The Musical; Fashion Academy: The Musical) with original songs by Thommie Retter and Rick Hip-Flores (In Transit; Fun Home; Billy Elliot).
