First Stage kicks off its 2022/23 season with the delightful world premiere production of ARTHUR AND FRIENDS MAKE A MUSICAL!, written by First Stage Resident Playwright, lyricist and actor John Maclay, with Music and Lyrics by actor, composer/lyricist, writer and First Stage alum Brett Ryback, adapted from the books and characters created by Marc Brown and directed and choreographed by Bay Area Children's Theatre Artistic Director Khalia Davis.

First Stage is set to stage its mainstage production of THE LEGEND OF ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, a world premiere co-commission with Oregon Children’s Theatre, which originally premiered in March of 2020. The production features clever, original music from classic rock to dance pop as well as fantastical costumes, sets and puppets that will entertain the entire family. Based on the bestselling book by Drew Daywalt with illustrations by Adam Rex, First Stage Resident Playwright John Maclay wrote the book and lyrics and Eric Nordin wrote the music and lyrics.

THE LEGEND OF ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, a family-friendly, fun world premiere musical, comes to First Stage this March. Based on the bestselling book by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Adam Rex, First Stage Playwright in Residence John Maclay wrote the book and lyrics with Eric Nordin, also doing music and lyrics. First Stage favorite Kelly Doherty, (outstanding as Miss Trunchbull in last season's hit MATILDA The Musical), will be making her First Stage directing debut with this production.
Hannah Hillebrand and Eric Nordin to Play One-Time Afternoon Concert - In Their Pajamas
Hannah Hillebrand (cello, Northwest Piano Trio) and Eric Nordin (piano) will play a one-time afternoon concert - in their pajamas - this Sunday, Dec. 15 at Re:sound NW. hannah and eric's holiday pajama jam offers audiences a chance to snuggle up to composers Rachmaninoff, Britten and Popper on a wintry afternoon wearing their own pajamas, if they choose. Proceeds go to local theater company Many Hats Collaboration.
