BIO

Eric Dietz is a New York-based composer, lyricist and writer working in musical


theater, dance, and film.

Stage musicals include writing book, music and lyrics for Luna and the Gold River Docks and Delirious Berlin.

Film work includes the screenplays Starlite and Cherry and the score for Olivia Palacios’s film girl in summer (winner: “Best Made in Coney Island” at the 2024 Coney Island Film Festival).

Dance credits include original scores for Robert Mark Dance’s Dawned (published as The Dark Dances), RAWdance’s Veneer, Derek Crescenti’s Converge (published as Two Ways Out: Shapes for Piano), and The Chase Brock Experience’s The Girl With the Alkaline Eyes and Dancing in My Head, commissioned by Works & Process at the Guggenheim.

On Broadway, he’s worked in the music teams of Gigi, Dames at Sea, Bright Star and Come from Away.

Volunteer work includes serving on the leadership committee of Trevor NextGen, a fundraising arm of the LGBTQ+ lifeline The Trevor Project.

Eric holds a BFA in music composition conferred with university and college honors from
Carnegie Mellon University where he was into the Pi Kappa Lambda music honor society, an organization that recognizes “the highest level of musical achievement and academic scholarship.”
