Trap Door Theatre's NANA Extends Through May 25th
By popular demand, Trap Door Theatre will extend its hit production of Nana. Adapted for the stage from Emile Zola's scandalous novel by Olwen Wymark, Nana was directed by Resident Choreographer Miguel Long, and Managing Director Nicole Wiesner, who originated the role of Nana in 2002.
REHEARSAL FOR TRUTH THEATER FESTIVAL Announces 2023 Lineup
The Vaclav Havel Library Foundation and Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association will present the 2023 Rehearsal for Truth Theater Festival honoring playwright and human rights activist Vaclav Havel. From June 2 to June 14, the Bohemian National Hall will feature award-winning performances from the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and the US.
Trap Door Theatre Presents the US Premiere of JOAN AND THE FIRE in March
Trap Door Theatre will continue its 29th season with the US premiere of Joan and the Fire, Matei Vişniec's playful and timely piece about revisionist history's effect on the iconic figure of Joan of Arc. Directed by Nicole Wiesner, Joan and the Fire will play March 9 – April 15, 2023 at Trap Door Theatre, 1655 W Cortland St. in Chicago.

Trap Door Theatre will present ALAS, a fragment of Matei Visniec's Cabaret of Words that was translated by Daniela Șilindean. Chicago's ensemble has invited members of its sister company, Trap Door International in Barcelona, to join the digital production, which opens July 31. ALAS will be performed in a combination of Afrikaans, Catalan, Italian, Spanish, and English.
