Emily H. Gilson is a Washington, DC - based actor, teaching artist, singer, and rescue cat mom. Born and raised in Washington, DC, her mom appeared as Tzeitel and Fruma Sarah in the second national tour of Fiddler on the Roof, and a cousin was the late radio and TV actor Billy Idelson, who played Herman Glimscher on The Dick Van Dyke Show and wrote for beloved classics The Twilight Zone and The Andy Griffith Show. Emily graduated Magna Cum Laude from SUNY Purchase in New York in with a double major in Theatre and Medieval History, and trained at Signature Theatre and then at the Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory. She has also trained with Shakespeare and Company (Lenox, MA) and her film debut, Silent Sentinel, about Alice Paul's 1917 imprisonment in the DC Women's Prison, was released online in November 2018. She makes her debut with Quotidian Theatre Company as Miss Roberts in their remount of the Edwardian British comedy "The Mollusc", July 12 - August 4, 2019. In June 2016 she originated the role of Young Coral in Patrick Flynn's short play "The Ferberizing of Coral," which was licensed for 2019 publication at the 43rd Off-Off Broadway Play Festival.
