Review: Invisible Theatre Opens 51st Season with THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT

The play's timing is rather canny given our current global scrimmage with 'alternative facts.' We live in an age where information is obtained with a mere suggestion of a keyword, where unfettered access to data wields personal power but rarely makes for enlightened, critical thinkers. In certain political quarters, no amount of fact-checking can penetrate the most stubborn epistemic cocoon. That said, verifiable information is critical to journalistic integrity, but facts alone aren't sufficient to inspire a reader. So what gives? D'Agata argues that accuracy is not the same as truth, that a cogent essay may demand some fudging of statistics to 'track the development of consciousness on the page.' Denounce him as a fabulist, but he's nowhere close to a conspiracy theorist.
BWW Review: YOU AND ME AND THE SPACE BETWEEN: A Whimsical Tale For A World In Crisis

The Island of The Proud Circle floats merrily along on the open sea. It’s the microcosm of organic affluence, an idyllic home to settlers who live their simple lives “from the middle to the outside.” Babies are born in the center and grow old to retire on the waterline, where the sea awaits their first and final dive.

Photo Flash: First Look at Theatre Three's JEKYLL & HYDE

“This is the moment …” The epic battle between good and evil is fought in Jekyll & Hyde, bringing new life to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story. A whirlwind odyssey pitting man against himself is set into motion when the brilliant Dr. Jekyll's medical experiment backfires, giving life to Edward Hyde, his evil alter ego. Featuring the hit songs “This is the Moment” and “Someone Like You,” Jekyll & Hyde is an evening of theatre you will never forget. Please Note: Contains adult themes and situations.

The book is by John Kane, music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg. It has additional background music by Herbert Stothart. It is based on the novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum and the 1939 film version written by Noel Langley, Florence Ryerson and Edgar Allan Woolf. This production will be co-directed by Scott Viets and Jerry Lee, who previously teamed up for Holiday Jukebox and The Robber Bridegroom. The production sponsor is DSN Outdoor.

BWW Review: SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER at Theatre Three

Closing out their wonderful 47th Season, Theatre Three offers a first-rate showing of the musical Saturday Night Fever. Based on the iconic 1977 movie and a story by Nik Cohn, this entertaining production, featuring songs by the Bee Gees, runs through June 24th at the charming Port Jefferson venue. This officially opened a few weeks ago and judging by the enthusiastic and still-packed house, you will certainly need to get your tickets quickly.
