Virginia Stage Company To Offer Theatrical Distance Programming
While schools are closed, Virginia Stage Company's Education and Community Engagement Department is offering online classes and workshops for students and the general public. Our Virginia Stage artists are here to teach, to entertain, and to connect with the community - even when we can't meet you in person. The first week of classes is already full and programming for next week is available for registration.
VSC And GSA Summer Camps Are Back
The theatre camp partnership between Virginia Stage Company and the Governor's School for the Arts returns this summer with exciting advances! Campers will have the opportunity to work with professional theater artists and engage in theatrical experiences that nurture their imaginations. A total of six two-week sessions are split between two age groups - ages 9-12 and ages 13-17 - with the first session beginning June 18. Camp activities include creative writing, character study, improvisation, and movement, with a culminating production written and performed by campers on the Wells Theatre stage.

Warehouse of Theatre presents the world premiere of THE DEATH OF THOMAS EDISON, a new play by Lee Smith, with direction by Katherine Hammond as part of the 18th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. Based in Norfolk, Virginia, Warehouse of Theatre is a collective which devotes its energy to passionately creating a conversation, juxtaposing cinematic imagery and poetic language.

Core Theatre Ensemble's award winning and critically acclaimed The Poe Project is making its New York premiere this February as part of the Midwinter Madness Short Play Festival with 2 performances on Friday, February 28 at 9pm and Saturday March 1 at 2:30pm. Based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, The Poe Project is an amazing night of telling tales when four actors journey seamlessly from story to poem and back again in a truly unique evening filled with laughter and chills.
