Pittsburgh Festival Opera Announces 2020 Season
Pittsburgh Festival Opera has released the details of its 2020 schedule. Productions this season include classic opera, one world premiere, one Pennsylvania premiere and the conclusion of Pittsburgh's Ring Cycle with scenes from Siegfried and Twilight of the Gods in concert. The Festival also presents a wider breadth of programming in different venues to include lectures, a poetry reading, two concerts by its Young Artists Program and festival favorite Daphne Alderson. The Festival runs from July 11 until July 26, 2020.
Tulsa Opera Announces 2020â€"21 Season
General Director Ken McConnell and Artistic Director Tobias Picker today announced Tulsa Opera's 73rd season comprising Verdi's Rigoletto; Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice in a new production with dance; and Mr. Picker and librettist Aryeh Lev Stollman's new opera Awakenings, based on the book by Oliver Sacks and directed by Tulsa native James Robinson.Â

Opera Ithaca presents Rossini's comic masterpiece, Cinderella, May 12th thru 14th at the Hangar Theatre marking the 200th anniversary of the premiere of the opera. Norm Johnson directs with choreography by Tucker Davis and featuring the dance ensemble of the Tucker Davis Dance Company. Opera Ithaca Music Director, Richard Montgomery, conducts the orchestra in a reduced orchestration by Magnus Gilljam from London's touring production with English Pocket Opera.
