SofÃa Ameglio, a professional dancer and actress from Buenos Aires, is making significant strides in New York City’s performing arts scene. An alumni of the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance—one of the oldest institutions of modern dance—SofÃa has built a diverse career that combines her skills in dance and acting.
Martha Graham Dance Company Presents A Special Studio Series Event With NYC-based Filmmaker Josefina Rotman Lyons
On February 7, the Martha Graham Dance Company will present a special studio event featuring a screening of the documentary Revival (2020) by New York City-based filmmaker Josefina Rotman Lyons. The film involves dance, aging, and community and features venerable Graham Company alumni Ellen Graff, Marnie Thomas Wood, and Stuart Hodes, along with renowned artist George Faison. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Lyons and several of the cast members.

Celebrating the resilience, vitality, and joy of age in response to this time of COVID-19 and the strengthened American fight for equality and justice for all, Dances For A Variable Population (DVP) will present, REVIVAL 4: Virtual! This five-day virtual performance festival features daily interactive dance workshops free and open to the public with a grand finale performance, REVIVAL 4: Virtual!, featuring eight legendary dance artists and 50 non-professional senior dancers.Â

Celebrating women, dance and the beauty of age, Dances For A Variable Population (DVP) will present three performances and two interactive workshops of REVIVAL 3: It's About Time, an outdoor public dance project featuring 10 legendary dance artists and 75 non-professional senior dancers, who in some ways allow us to become time-travelers.
Dances for a Variable Population Presents THE PHOENIX PROJECT, Today
 Celebrating dance and the beauty of age, Dances For a Variable Population (DVP), will present three performances of The Phoenix Project, a citywide public dance project that empowers older adults and reevaluates the aesthetics of aging. This world premiere collaboration will take place in three boroughs-Bronx, Queens and Harlem-over three Todays, June 4, 11 and 13. The Phoenix Project will make its Bronx debut at the New York Botanical Garden's award-winning and picturesque Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden on June 4. In the subsequent weekends, the piece will move with excerpts of the full work to Queens at the Queensbridge Riis Senior Center on June 11, and close their performances as part of the Summer on the Hudson Festival at the West Harlem Piers Park on June 18 as part of a Family Day event.
