Esa-Pekka Salonen and The Colburn Orchestra Come to The Soraya Next Month

Composer, conductor, and current Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony, Esa-Pekka Salonen returns to The Soraya’s podium for the third time on Saturday, November 13 at 8pm as he conducts the Colburn Orchestra, the flagship orchestra of the Colburn School’s Conservatory of Music, which has gained international acclaim for producing the next generation of world-class musicians.  
Renee Fleming to Become Artistic Director of Aspen Music Festival Summer Opera Program

 In 2020, the Aspen Music Festival and School will launch the new Aspen Opera Theater and VocalARTS under the leadership of co-artistic directors Renée Fleming and Patrick Summers. The program provides a unique and premier-level opportunity for developing opera singers by combining performance with intensive individual instruction and mentorship with two of opera's leading performing professionals.

29th Annual ND Student Film Festival to Take Place January 26-28

The University of Notre Dame's Department of Film, Television, and Theatre (FTT) announces the 29th Annual Notre Dame Student Film Festival, in the Browning Cinema at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, January 26 through 28. As in recent years, audience members are invited to vote for their favorite film via text message. The Audience Choice Award will be presented to the student directors of the winning film after the final screening.
Five Young Singers Named 2016 Winners of The Metropolitan Opera's National Council Auditions

?After a months-long series of competitions at the district, regional, and national levels, a panel of expert judges named five young singers as the winners of the nation's most prestigious vocal competition, the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Each winner receives a $15,000 cash prize and the prestige and exposure that come with winning the competition that launched the careers of many of opera's biggest stars.
Met Opera Announces Finalists in Vocal Competition

Following yesterday's highly competitive semi-final competition, nine young singers will advance to the final phase of the Metropolitan Opera's 2016 National Council Auditions, America's most prestigious vocal competition. The selected finalists, chosen by a panel of experts from the classical music industry, will compete on the Met stage on Sunday, March 13 at 3 p.m. The winners will receive individual cash prizes of $15,000 and the prestigious-and potentially career-launching-title of National Council Auditions Winner. The Grand Finals Concert will feature Antony Walker conducting the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra as each finalist performs two arias.

LACC Announces The Harmony Project
