Opus Two With Special Guest Elena Shaddow Will Celebrate Sondheim at Feinstein's/54 Below
The acclaimed Opus Two violin-piano duo returns to Feinstein's/54 Below for an unforgettable 90th birthday tribute to Stephen Sondheim featuring the New York premiere of A Little Night Music: Suite for Violin and Piano and Bernstein's Four Moments from Candide, both arranged by veteran Broadway director Eric Stern, and Somewhere from West Side Story, arr. Raimundo Penaforte. Special guest Broadway vocalist Elena Shaddow will join the duo in Two House Songs: My House, from Peter Pan and Take Care of this House, from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and Sondheim's I Remember, from Evening Primrose, also arranged by Stern. Eric Stern, who will host the evening, is a Broadway conductor, arranger, and music supervisor with 19 Broadway musicals to his credit. BWW REVIEW: Women Rule THE KING AND I Tour Now in Worcester
The national tour of the 2015 Tony Award-winning revival of THE KING AND I, now brightening the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts in Worcester, is a perfectly respectable production. The timeless and soaring Rodgers and Hammerstein score is beautifully sung and impeccably played by the 16-piece orchestra, and design elements (especially Catherine Zuber's elegant period costumes) effectively juxtapose the traditions of 1860s Siam against the encroaching modernization of the. But something is off balance in this Bartlett Sher directed re-visioning. The women, not the King, rule.
Chita Rivera Reveals THE VISIT Is Heading to Beijing, Singapore & More!
Kander and Ebb's Tony-nominated musical THE VISIT might have closed on Broadway earlier this summer, but according to leading lady Chita Rivera, the show will have another life overseas. She told MSN that the musical will soon open in Beijing, Singapore and maybe even London.

Roger Rees on Leave From THE VISIT; Tom Nelis Steps In
BroadwayWorld has learned that Roger Rees is currently on leave from The Visit, and in his place, Tom Nelis is temporarily stepping in as Anton Schell. No word yet on the duration of the hiatus. Of note, the star has also been swapped out for Nelis on the show's official web site.
